Antivirus warnings

Some antivirus programs flag the installer. These are false positives: here is why, so you can decide for yourself.

• The installer is a small Windows program that is not code-signed (a signing certificate costs money every year). Unsigned programs that few people have downloaded get flagged more often.
• The flags come from machine-learning engines that guess from how a file looks ("Malicious (moderate confidence)", "ML score", "Generic"), not from a known virus. The big engines, like Microsoft Defender, Kaspersky, ESET and Bitdefender, find nothing.
• What it does: it downloads CrazyHacks from our server, writes the loader into your mods folder, adds the CrazyHacks profile to the Minecraft Launcher and saves your login encrypted for your Windows user. To tie your account to one PC it reads an ID of your PC and sends only a one-way hash of it, never the ID itself.
• Every new build changes the file, so the antivirus results start again from zero each time.

"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen): click More info, then Run anyway. If your antivirus deletes the file, restore it from quarantine and add an exception for that file only. Never turn your antivirus off completely.
